Hey -

So, I'm having a little trouble keeping up these days.I'm not silly (or arrogant) enough to imagine you've been on pins and needles thinking about me and longing for one of my emails. But I think about you every week when Sunsama tells me to write you a pep talk. And I feel immense guilt when I click "Complete" when I obviously ... have not.I've just been overloaded that's all.

In no particular order, I've been:

  • 🌳 Running Tall Tree Collective.
  • 🇲🇽 Learning Spanish.
  • 🤟 Learning American Sign Language.
  • 🎵 Learning cello.
  • 📚 Learning how to start a bookshop.
  • 🔠 Trying, and failing, to keep a Wordle streak alive.

... plus all the other things we humans do: care for our families, cook dinner, walk our dogs, clean our bathrooms (I guess).Last week, I decided something had to give. And I'm sad to say it's this thing.

Pep Talk #059: Say when.
Every once in a while, it's good to pause, assess how you're investing your energy, and let go of the things that are no longer in season. This will be hard—especially when all the things are good things. But we each have a limit, and it's OK to say when.

I have loved (LOVED!) writing these emails to you. Thank you for being here with me over the last little while. You're the best. I mean it.

With love,

Kelley

P.S. If we currently work together—or if you want to work together—please don't misunderstand: I'm not closing my copywriting business. 😅 Tall Tree is still alive and well, and it will be into the foreseeable future. (How else am I going to fund the bookstore?!)

P.P.S. If you're at all interested in books and/or the behind-the-scenes of opening a bookshop, you're welcome to join this email list. (I'm not overly consistent over there, either.) (I know you're super surprised.)
